Attention South African fresh citrus exporters: Cold treatment requirements for fresh citrus exported to China have changed

On 22 April 2026, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) issued Announcement No. 47 of 2026, adjusting the cold treatment requirements for South African fresh citrus (excluding lemons) exported to China, effective from the date of issuance. The cold treatment must meet one of the following conditions: (1) Fruit pulp temperature of -0.2 °C or below for 16 consecutive days or more; (2) Fruit pulp temperature of 1.0 °C or below for 19 consecutive days or more.
